Smith Design Associates are RIBA Chartered Architects providing high quality building design and construction advice to our clients across the UK from our offices in Glasgow and Dumfries. In early 2024, the company transitioned to become Employee Owned by way of an Employee Ownership Trust. The intention is that the change to Employee Ownership will allow our dedicated members of staff to continue providing a high quality service for our clients into the future, whilst creating an enhanced collaborative working approach across the company. The practice successfully services a varied workload including developments in roadside, leisure, residential, commercial and industrial sectors. We have also built up an extensive portfolio of work in food and non-food retail sectors where we have acted on behalf of both Developer and Occupant / Operator. Many highly valued long term working relationships built up over the years have ensured a healthy workload is maintained. We are retained by several major UK retailers including Wm Morrison Supermarkets Ltd, Lidl, Home Bargains, EG Group and Asda for construction of new buildings and fitting-out / conversion of existing units.
