Collins Family Ventures
Collins Family Ventures is a fund raised for the purpose of purchasing and operating a company. Simone and Malcolm, a husband-and-wife team, raised the fund from a group of experienced individual and institutional investors familiar with the process of purchasing and running organizations in a broad range of industries. They are following the Search Fund model, a process of entrepreneurship by acquisition that has been actively researched and refined since the late 1980s (you can learn more on the model from Stanford University’s Center for Entrepreneurial Studies: http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/faculty-research/centers-initiatives/ces/research/search-funds). The team’s objective is to carry on the legacy of a business owner who would like to retire without compromising the spirit of the company he or she worked hard to create. Financially, the ideal company acquired by the team will have: $5 to $50 million in annual revenue $2 to $5 million of EBITDA 15%+ EBITDA Margins At least 3 years of historical profitability
