A private investment partner with a difference Who are Guiding Capital and what makes us different? A number of things make Guiding Capital different from the rest. Firstly, when we’re considering an investment, the people involved and the dreams they have - the soft issues - are just as important as the hard issues like cash and contracts. We best represent this in a meeting by bringing along jelly babies and gold coins, because for us both the people and the money are important. Our new website reflects this too. We’re a private investment firm, so it’s our own money we’re investing. This allows us to be flexible, creative and decisive in both our deal structures and exit timeframes. Our preferences for new investments are; development capital to fund growth, funding Management Buy Outs and retirement sales, including shared upside. We operate anywhere in the UK, but especially in the triangle between London, Bristol and Birmingham. We back businesses across a range of industries, typically investing between £400,000 and £1 million but we have capacity to invest more when we really like an idea. Primarily we look for strong management who have ambitious yet achievable goals and where our own skills dovetail with the existing team.
