Paratus Capital was a ‘traditional search fund’ raised to identify, acquire, and subsequently operate a niche, value-add business operating in the U.S. lower middle market. The intended acquisition was to yield a 35% base case IRR to investors over a 5-year hold period. Having not secured an acquisition that satisfied the group’s investment criteria within the allotted timeframe and budget, the fund was shut down.
