The Meloy Fund
The Meloy Fund for Sustainable Community Fisheries is a pioneer impact investment fund that incentivizes the development and adoption of sustainable fisheries by making debt and equity investments in fishing-related enterprises that support the recovery of coastal fisheries in Indonesia and the Philippines. In addition to providing a risk adjusted financial return, the Fund is projected to have a positive impact on the lives of 100,000 fishers and their household members, and place 1.2 million hectares of coastal habitats (including coral reefs, seagrass, and mangroves) under improved management. The Fund is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rare, a global conservation organization that has empowered local communities in over 50 countries to shift from being resource users to environmental stewards.
The Meloy Fund is a niche impact investment fund focused exclusively on sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and seafood supply chains in Southeast Asia. It does not target traditional private equity verticals like B2B SaaS, specialty trades, or domestic healthcare services.
