Bettercare Capital was formed by serial entrepreneurs Gordon and James Patterson – The Founders. The Founders have been actively investing and operating in the healthcare sector for over 25 years. Their first investment was Bettercare Group, formed in 1992. Bettercare was developed organically and through acquisition was supported by external private equity investment in the late 1990s. At exit the group had an EBITDA run rate of c£12m and was sold for £116m. The Group comprised 26 care homes (12 within the M25 in London) and a private hospital.
