Dorset Agriculture
Investors in agriculture often feel limited to two strategies – low risk, low return, or high risk, high return. Investors shouldn’t have to choose between sacrificing returns or taking undue risk. At Dorset, we enhance investor portfolios with an uncorrelated diversifier that offers attractive after-tax returns, capital preservation, and current income. These benefits are driven by our own-and-lease strategy which invests in a market white space for niche farmland and agricultural infrastructure assets. Our founder, Mike Denklau, grew up in a third-generation farming family in Blue Grass, Iowa, where he saw how limited access to capital prevented his father from buying the family farm. Later, as an agriculture investor at Harvard Management Company and Solum Partners, Mike realized that his family’s story is not unique. Across the industry, farmers lack access to equity capital for smaller, real-asset investments. Mike founded Dorset Agriculture to empower farmers to rewrite their stories while providing investors with a differentiated way to invest in agriculture. Established in 2023, our firm: • Offers high-net-worth investors and RIAs with a tax-efficient, income producing portfolio diversifier that is resilient through inflationary and recessionary markets • Enables farmers to grow their operations on their own terms while retaining operational autonomy • Operates as a 100% employee-owned firm, independently managed by two Iowans from multigenerational farming families and advised by two agriculture industry veterans. ---------------------- Let’s talk: info@dorsetag.com (617) 340-9868
