Curiously Resilient

Description

Curiously Resilient Counselling provides trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy, supporting individuals and communities to better understand emotional wellbeing, trauma, and resilience. My practice is grounded in integrative counselling, blending therapeutic approaches to suit each person’s unique needs rather than relying on a single therapy model. Alongside traditional talk therapy, I incorporate somatic and sensorimotor approaches, recognising the important role the body plays in processing stress and trauma. These methods support clients in developing awareness, emotional regulation, and lasting change through the mind–body connection. A key area of my work focuses on the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and how early life adversity can shape wellbeing across the lifespan. Through a trauma-informed approach, I prioritise safety, understanding, and compassionate support while helping individuals build resilience and develop healthier coping strategies. In addition to one-to-one counselling for adults, I am passionate about trauma-informed psychoeducation. I provide CPD, wellbeing training, and educational workshops for therapeutic professionals, schools, parents, care staff, and community organisations to strengthen mental health awareness and support. Curiously Resilient Counselling currently offers 1:1 counselling for adults (18+) in person in Magherafelt and online across Northern Ireland, with counselling for children and young people (ages 5+) planned for Autumn 2026.
