Hey Christopher — similar IB → PE path. Been thinking a lot about proprietary origination in lower-mid software lately. Would be good to connect.
Hey Christopher, similar background, weirdly — I'm from Zimbabwe, did growth equity in London, not building a software PE firm in Houston. most lower-mid software funds I talk to are running on PitchBook or Grata, maybe Affinity, and then basically Excel and email for everything else on the origination side. but proprietary deal flow stays inconsistent. nothing connects systematically — the firm's thesis and network intelligence don't feed into each other, so origination never builds on itself. does origination look different at Clovis Point? — Russ

hey Christopher — one more thought on origination. after hitting this wall myself doing growth equity, I ended up building origination infrastructure for funds full-time — Axiom Equity, Noble Rock, Wingman, a few others. at my old fund we had every subscription going and I still spent half my time manually stitching origination together. the funds who systematise it early compound deal flow in a way that's really hard to replicate later. curious if Clovis Point has cracked that or if it's the same pattern. — Russ
hey Christopher — appreciate the connect either way. we documented the origination infrastructure we've built across funds — tech stack, workflows, prompts. free to share if it'd be useful at Clovis Point. either way, I'm around if origination ever becomes a conversation worth having. — Russ

Hi Christopher, looks like we share a similar PE path — though I'm from Zimbabwe and ended up doing growth equity in London, not backing enterprise software in Houston. I build origination systems for funds — Axiom Equity, Noble Rock Software, Wingman Growth Partners, a few others. as part of that we've mapped a batch of scored founder-owned B2B SaaS companies that most of these funds are looking at. most aren't being banked. happy to share a sample — just reply and I'll send you the link. hi Christopher — bit of context on why I sent that. at my old fund we had a solid stack and smart people, and origination still felt like it restarted from scratch every cycle. took me a while to realise it wasn't a people problem — the tools just didn't talk to each other. did you ever run into that at Clovis Point, or was it just us? Russell searchloop.ai linkedin.com/in/russellt23
hi Christopher — something about this keeps coming back. the pattern I keep seeing — the funds with a real proprietary pipeline aren't just finding more companies. they're finding them before anyone else does. that changes everything downstream — pricing, competition, conviction. curious if that matches what you're seeing at Clovis Point. Russell searchloop.ai linkedin.com/in/russellt23
hi Christopher — completely separate from all that. we've got a playbook that covers the full origination stack — data sources, outreach workflows, the automations that actually work. let me know if you'd want a copy. Russell searchloop.ai linkedin.com/in/russellt23
hi Christopher — I'll leave it here. the company list and playbook are yours whenever — no expiry. I'm deep in this space all day, so if it ever becomes relevant at Clovis Point, I'm around. Russell searchloop.ai linkedin.com/in/russellt23
